Philosophy: All our lives we are learning about things around us, we are learning about ourselves and people around us. All our ethics is dedicated to taking care of others. But do we really care? We learn all our lives, and what worries us the most is how to get to know each other and ourselves in the process. Is compassion a false impression we make on others, to look “normal in their eyes”? Do we really care about others trying to find out through this work?
Description: In this performance we have two suits; the first suit has sensors for measuring heat, pulse for EEG etc. The sensors “read” data from the artist body, aka her vital functions. The other suit is as well consumer as “Empath”. The “Empath” is absorber of the impulse of measurements and his suit receives that information from the artist’s suit and then it turns them into different set of physical and mechanical reactions. On the “Empath” suit there are thermal heaters with pulses, etc. The artist, through a suit, conveys her physically measurable body expressions to the “Empath” suit through electromotors, thermal heaters etc. which vibrate and at the same time they can feel her body reactions.
Technology: Arduino + sensors.
Exhibition: Work in progress.
