Utopia: dictionaries

In this collaborative project, we engage with the concept of a dictionary, drawing inspiration from a historical milestone. In 1516, Sir Thomas More finished his groundbreaking work, 'Utopia,' a novel written in Latin and published by Erasmus and Leuven. Marking its 500th anniversary in 2016, people, institutions, and organizations worldwide commemorated the book that pioneered the genres of Utopian and Dystopian fiction, depicting ideal societies or perfect cities alongside their antitheses. This project explores the linguistic and conceptual foundations that have shaped visions of utopia and dystopia, inviting a reimagining of these themes through our contemporary lens.
